Keto Golumpki (guh-WOOM-key)

A beautiful Polish dish involving cabbage with meat and topped with a spicy marinara sauce. Traditionally, this is made into a roll, but I prefer to make it into a casserole because it is easier and tastes just as good. Also, it definitely is not traditional to be spicy.

Ingredients

  • Spicy Marinara Sauce
  • 2 large heads of cabbage (green)
  • 2.5 lb ground turkey (or beef or pork if you prefer)

Instructions

  1. Make the Spicy Marinara Sauce.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  3. Remove the core from the cabbage heads and place them in a large pot of boiling water for about 5-10 minutes, or until the leaves are tender and pliable.
  4. Cut the cabbage into 1/2" by 1/2" cubes.
  5. In a large, deep baking dish, mix 1/2" balls of ground turkey with the chopped cabbage.
  6. Pour the spicy marinara sauce over the meat and cabbage mixture, ensuring everything is well coated.
  7. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
